In California’s acclaimed Anderson Valley, cool nights, clay soils and fog-enveloped mornings help to shape a refined and compelling style balancing vibrancy and finesse. Following in this tradition, this lush, complex wine highlights signature Anderson Valley elements of dark cherry and ripe wild strawberry.

Wine Profile

Production Notes
Varietal Content: 100% Pinot Noir; Cooperage: 100% French Oak, 45% New Oak, 55% Second Vintage
Winemaker Notes
This is a complex, red fruit-driven Pinot Noir with a rich entry, balanced acidity, good length and substantial structure. In both the aromatics and on the palate, enticing notes of cranberry and strawberry take center stage supported by layers of cola and spice, as well as savory elements of leather, tomato leaf and bacon fat.
Production
A dry winter and spring in the Anderson Valley limited canopy growth and yields. Throughout the summer, the weather was near ideal with moderate daytime temperatures. At the same time, the valley’s proximity to the Pacific ensured a regular cooling influence, resulting in diurnal temperature swings of almost 40 degrees Fahrenheit. September brought a sustained heat spell with temperatures reaching the low 100s, giving the grapes a final push toward perfect ripeness.
