Highlighting lush, layered flavors, bright acidity and impeccably balanced French oak, Migration is dedicated to crafting wines from the finest cool-climate winegrowing regions. Planted by Marcy Keefer in 1996, and situated in the cool heart of the Sonoma Coast, Keefer ranch has earned acclaim as one of California’s grand cru-caliber vineyards. Located on an eastern-facing slope with ideal Goldridge soil, our prized block of Keefer produces a beautifully textural Chardonnay with lovely tension and soaring flavors of peach, Fuji apple and citrus.

Winemaker Notes
Showcasing why the fruit from this vineyard is so highly prized, this tantalizing wine beckons with aromas of stone fruit, Fuji apple, lemon curd and white floral blossoms. On the impressively structured palate, refined tannins, bright acidity and sweet hints of vanilla and custard add nuance and complexity to the citrus and stone fruit flavors.
Production
While the 2022 growing season in the Sonoma Coast was compact and eventful, it produced wines with lush, refined tannins, opulent layers of fruit and lively natural acidity. Thanks to warm summer temperatures, we began harvesting our warmest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyard at ideal ripeness in mid-August. The arrival of a significant heat event near Labor Day gave the remaining vineyards a final push to ripeness and we concluded harvest in mid-September. Overall, the quality was spectacular. The Chardonnays have beautiful citrus and tropical aromas and lush, concentrated flavors, with the Pinot Noirs offering supple, refined tannin and luxurious layers of dark berry fruit.
