Since our first vintage in 2001, Migration has developed a refined and compelling style that balances vibrancy and finesse. Defined by the idea of movement, Migration is dedicated to going beyond our Anderson Valley origins and exploring Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the finest cool-climate winegrowing regions. This exploration has taken us to the storied vineyards of California’s Russian River Valley, where clockwork fog and Goldridge sandy loam soils have contributed to a Pinot Noir with beautiful, high-tone red fruit flavors of strawberry, cherry and cranberry and enticing hints of orange-cinnamon spice.
Varietal Content: 100% Pinot Noir; Cooperage: 100% French Oak, 35% New Oak, 65% Second Vintage
Classic Russian River Valley red fruit aromas of pomegranate, cherry and strawberry leap from the glass accompanied by hints of oak-inspired spice. The vibrant red fruit is echoed on the palate, where lovely pumpkin pie spice notes of nutmeg and clove carry through to a long, satisfying finish.
The 2013 harvest was early, even and excellent with a warm dry spring brought an early bud break and created ideal conditions for flowering and fruit set. In the weeks after Labor Day, a moderate heat event followed by a period of perfect weather created a dream scenario for end-of-season ripening. Rain was not a factor, and for the second vintage in a row, the quality of the grapes was exceptional throughout Russian River Valley.
Our "go to" casual Pinot Noir treat! Smooth and consistent every time with big black and blueberry touches. Wonderful long and consistent finish as well as a serene nose. We keep putting these in our wine cave but somebody steels them (oh, that's me!!)... Cheers, Frank (youtube/FrankandSandyShow)
