Highlighting lush, layered flavors, bright acidity and impeccably balanced French oak, Migration is dedicated to crafting wines from the finest cool-climate winegrowing regions. This dedication led us to establish our estate vineyard in the heart of the legendary Russian River Valley. This wine is a selection of the best blocks and barrels of wine from this exceptional site. Though rich and supple, with alluring flavors of blackberry and Bing cherry, it is also a beautifully complex, terroir-driven wine.

Wine Profile

Production Notes
Varietal Composition: 100% Estate Pinot Noir; Oak profile: 100% French oak 35% new
Winemaker Notes
Beautifully complex and aromatic, this wine displays a medley of raspberry, blackberry and plum flavors, as well as deeper notes of wild mushrooms and earthy forest floor. Beautifully integrated French oak lifts the palate, with supple fine-grained tannins framing the lush fruit and carrying the wine to an impeccably balanced berry and spice finish.
Production
On the Sonoma Coast, 2018 was a stellar vintage that started with a cool winter, followed by a relatively temperate summer that allowed for lovely hangtime and a longer growing season. The length of the season ensured that the grapes developed ideal tannins and flavors. While much-needed winter rains helped to spur a generous crop, our rigorous thinning practices resulted in excellent vine balance and wonderful concentration in the grapes. As a result, both our Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays offer compelling weight and texture, with pure flavors and lovely poise and energy.
