2022 Migration Sonoma Coast Rosé of Pinot Noir
Migration is dedicated to crafting wines from the finest cool-climate winegrowing regions highlighting lush fruit, bright acidity and impeccably balanced oak. This dedication has taken us to the storied vineyards of California’s Sonoma Coast, where layers of ocean fog cool the vines that grow in the famous Goldridge sandy loam soils.
Varietal Composition: 100% Pinot Noir; Our Rosé is a direct to press Pinot Noir Rosé, we pick early to help retain the natural acidity from the vineyard. This Rosé comes from one specific block from our Running Creek Vineyard which is clone 667.
This vibrant rosé draws you in with enticing aromas of wild strawberry, peach, Meyer lemon and white flowers. On the palate, a beam of crisp acidity adds brightness and lift to the lovely berry and citrus flavors, with a tantalizing hint of sweetness emerging on the finish.
While the 2022 growing season in the Sonoma Coast was compact and eventful, it produced wines with lush, refined tannins, opulent layers of fruit and lively natural acidity. Thanks to warm summer temperatures, we began harvesting our warmest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyard at ideal ripeness in mid-August. The arrival of a significant heat event near Labor Day gave the remaining vineyards a final push to ripeness and we concluded harvest in mid-September. Overall, the quality was spectacular. The Chardonnays have beautiful citrus and tropical aromas and lush, concentrated flavors, with the Pinot Noirs offering supple, refined tannin and luxurious layers of dark berry fruit.
